I am looking for motivated graduate students (primarily MASc, with some PhD opportunities) to join my research group at the University of Waterloo in the Vision and Image Processing Group.

Our work focuses on advanced deep learning for video analytics, with exciting applications in:
🏒 Sports analytics (e.g., player tracking, performance insights, tactical understanding)
🚗 Traffic and mobility systems (e.g., vehicle behavior analysis, safety, smart infrastructure)

Students in our group work at the intersection of:
- Computer vision and machine learning
- Spatiotemporal modeling of video data
- Real-world, high-impact applications

You’ll have the opportunity to:
✔ Work on cutting-edge deep learning methods (including transformer-based and multimodal models)
✔ Collaborate closely with fellow students, faculty, and industry partners
✔ Contribute to impactful, applied AI solutions

We are looking for candidates with:
- Strong background in machine learning / computer vision
- Solid programming skills (Python, PyTorch or similar)
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in team-based research environments
